Truth Frazier

I’ve been wiping my own tears so much lately I can’t keep up,

Afraid that I might fall

Into my own ocean.

He says “you are my child”

But I feel worthless,

Afraid that I might fall.

Because I go against the grain,

I cry when I look at myself,

I cry when I see what He has created.

I’ve been wiping my own tears,

I can’t keep up.

Afraid that I might fall,

Into my ocean of tears that taste like salt when they finally reach my dried lips, cold and filled with the feeling of sorrow.

Afraid that I might not walk through the ocean He has parted for me,

That I might turn my head and become blind.

That I will choose to keep wiping tears and not notice how He weeps

saying

“You are my child.”
