Blooming sunflowers and golden wheat fields

Will always remind me of you.

I am made of the memories—

The ones that you gave me

Your essence fills my mind

The days of endless smiles and laughter

The nights of nostalgic dreams

The music of joy filling the air

I inherited your legacy

The story that couldn’t carry on once you left

The cliffhanger of your absence

Wilting sunflowers and barren wheat fields

Are not enough to make me forget you.

Please—come back—

The silence of loneliness

Has left me feeling empty

I long to run through those wheat fields—

To smell those radiant sunflowers

Someday I will find you—

Venture to the distant sunflowers and wheat fields

Where questions need no answers

We’ll hum our special tune—

I won’t need sunflowers or wheat fields

To remind me of who you are.
