Hamilton Students Chosen as National Merit Finalists
Three Hamilton High School seniors have been named finalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition. The students are Zara Sagna, Disha Deepak, and Brody Carlson.
“We are thrilled to learn that three Hamilton High School National Merit Semi-Finalists have been named National Merit Finalists and are excited to find out in the coming months if any of them earn the distinction of being National Merit Winners,” said Hamilton High School Principal Dominic Bauer.
Finalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by the school principal, write an essay and earn SAT scores that confirm the students’ earlier test performance.
More than 1.3 million high school students entered the competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship qualifying test.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), established in1955, is a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. Scholarships are underwritten by NMSC with its own funds and by approximately 300 independent corporate organizations, higher education institutions and individual donors to honor the nation’s scholastic champions and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence.
