Congrats to our September Male Athlete of the Month, Timmy Tobolic. Tobolic is a senior edge, outside linebacker, kicker for the football team. Despite missing the first game of the season due to a wrist injury, he’s been off to a great start, helping lead the Chargers to a 4-0 record so far. Tobolic describes the start of the season as “different from all of the rest” and says that the team is “playing together and for each other.”
Teammate and fellow classmember, Logan Langkamp, describes Tobolic as “a fast, free, and physical football player. He has the pedal to the metal every single play, and he treats every down as its own game. His technique is sound and, although he has a club on one hand, you would never know if there wasn't an obvious cast. Whether it is slamming into gaps or chasing down the QB, Timmy plays one of the most selfless positions on the field. It speaks volumes of the kind of person he is. He is always the first one to celebrate with you after a play and always has a smile on his face no matter the outcome.”
Defensive Line Coach Chris Botsford also praises Tobolic, stating, “[He] is a great guy to coach. He holds himself to a high standard in practice and in games. He not only leads by example, but also carries a strong voice with his teammates. His work ethic and leadership have a positive impact on his teammates, coaches, and the outcome of the game.”
