Three Key Takeaways From Drake’s FOMO Livestream

Last Tuesday, September 15, rapper & songwriter Drake livestreamed his “not-so-short film” “FOMO.” Although the artist just recently released three full albums (HABIBTI, ICEMAN, and MAID OF HONOUR) in May of 2026, fans highly anticipated the release of the film.
There was a great deal of speculation about what “FOMO” would actually entail. An album, a single, a music video—there were many different things the media was expecting. Hours before the livestream, Drake posted a photo on Instagram with the caption “a not-so-short film…A story about making the absolute most of it all in one summer.”
The short film has gained a lot of attention over these past few days despite the media’s limited access to information, so here’s three major things to take from the livestream.
There are New Music Videos for Drake’s Hits
In the beginning of the livestream, Drake is seen walking through his home, leading into a room in which rapper Sexyy Redd was seen dancing and rapping to her portion in their song “Cheetah Print”. Along with this scene, a large portion of the film serves the purpose of visually representing some of the most popular songs from his past albums HABIBTI, ICEMAN, and MAID OF HONOUR.
Some of the songs that were given music videos within the short film include “Cheetah Print,” “Outside Tweaking,” “White Bone,” and more. These videos have now been posted separately on Drake’s official Youtube page as of the 19th.
Drake has Been Collaborating with Artists on New Music
Among the new visuals, there was also a handful of entirely new music that was revealed. Titles or official release dates were not specified, but fans are now able to access the entire short film via YouTube.
Mainly singer and rapper Don Toliver as well as Yeat were featured on these songs. Toliver is first seen on the song known as “Cold Shoulder,” which includes themes of yearning and rekindling love. Drake is seen at a fair by himself, symbolizing the solitary lifestyle he speaks about in the song.
The next new song featured has been called “Quebec” and is a transition into topics involving independence and success. The visuals include Drake in what appears to be a walk-in closet, showing off necklaces, wrist watches, and luxury bags.
The song “MISS MY DAWG” was just recently released on Yeat’s album COCOON. The song was first premiered in the “FOMO” livestream, and shortly after Yeat made an announcement via Instagram story saying “had to make it 6 because I love yall” after previously stating that the album would only have five songs (“MISS MY DAWG” being the sixth).
Drake is Coming on Tour in 2027
Lastly and arguably the biggest, most surprising takeaway: Drake plans to tour again in 2027. In an interview with Etalk, the rapper announced that his “tour is coming” and that he and his team are looking forward to “[seeing] everyone across the world.”
This is significant regarding Drake’s next steps in his career due to the fact that in recent years, the rapper has decided not to perform in the United States. His last performance was known to be alongside Don Toliver in Toronto, Canada and before that he toured Europe as well as Australia. Since Drake hasn’t been in the U.S. in nearly two years now, fans are highly anticipating seeing the rapper in concert.
