Who am I Meant to be?

Little Rabbit who leaps away from harm,

Whose quick feet that once brought survival—

Still bring luck to the living

Always fleeing from the jaws of danger—

How do you live your life of worry?

This is who you’re meant to be.

Sly Fox who lures prey to your mouth,

Imitating the friendship that you’ve never known—

Why is your life filled with deception?

Hidden in the shadows and staying out of sight—

Your wits are keeping you alive

For this is who you’re meant to be.

Grizzly Bear who is mighty beyond compare,

The forest fears your presence—

But children find comfort in your warmth

When you wake from your heavy slumber—

You’re tasked with rebuilding your life

But you know who you’re meant to be.

Singing Robin who brings the sunrise with song,

Your melody is swept away by the breeze

Who do you sing for?

You believe that no harm can reach you—

When you live among the clouds

And this is who you’re meant to be.

All the creatures of the Earth

Have purpose to their life

But who am I meant to be?

I don’t know how to survive—

Yet I’m still here.

Can I choose who to be?

Listener or Talker?

Thinker or Feeler?

Actor or Dreamer?

Predator or Prey?

Shepherd or Sheep?

Pilot or Passenger?

Was I made to let life happen to me?

When will I grow roots?

For now I float around the world—

Because I don’t know who I’m meant to be.
