College Commits: Carly Elkin

Carly Elkin is a senior on the Cross Country and Track and Field Teams. She has been a major contributor to both of their seasons as a distance runner and is excited to continue her athletic career after high school! Mahika Mahapatra, junior, says of Elkin, “Something positive Carly has brought to the team is a sense of unification. This year Carly really helped bring the Hamilton Girls Cross Country team closer together. One of Carly’s strengths is her commitment and dedication to running. She is a hard-worker and always comes to practice. The team will definitely miss her next year!”

What school are you committed to?

I’ve committed to Grand Valley State University.

What is your intended major?

I plan on majoring in allied health sciences with a pre-physician assistant emphasis.

Who is your biggest inspiration in your sports endeavors or a person you would like to shout out and why?

I would like to give a shout out to my coaches, Coach Marcus and Coach Degroot! They have truly helped me grow so much as an athlete, and I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without them. I’m so thankful for all of the time and energy they invest into our team!
