Emily Zgonc, a Hamilton High School junior, recently participated in the 2025 Menomonee Falls Optimist Club Essay contest.  The essay topic was “How Optimism has Paved my Road to Success.” In February, Zgonc was notified by Mr. Mike Russell of the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club that she had placed first in the local club’s contest, receiving a first-place medallion and prize money.

Zgonc’s essay then moved on to the Wisconsin District competition. In April, Zgonc was awarded first place at District, receiving another first-place medallion and a $2500 scholarship.

Congratulations to Emily Zgonc showcasing her strong writing skills and being the first Hamilton High School student to place in the District competition!
