Sep 25 NHS Club Updates

Not Going Anywhere: Don't fret Chargers, NHS is not disbanding or going away. Due to our last advisor's retirement last school year, starting up again has just been a bit difficult. After the NHS Executive Board--President Ally Gordon, Vice President Kaylin Vosters, Secretary Maliha Aroush, and Historian Bridget Dwyer--met with admin a couple weeks ago, we were given a pass to start up volunteering hours of previously-affiliated NHS members who were inducted last year.
What This Means for Invitations: Invites to apply for NHS for both Juniors and Seniors who were not invited last year will still be on further standby until an advisor is set in place. We are actively searching, but if any staff member is interested please contact our school's admin or NHS Exec Board. Depending on how long this process will be, required volunteer hours could be shortened from 20 hours to a shorter, more accommodating number. The Seniors' deadline of May could also be lengthened to match the Juniors' deadline of June if this delay continues.
Volunteer Hours @ HHS HOSA Blood Drive: Senior members can start their hours as early as this week! Donating blood or having someone donate in your name at the HOSA x Red Cross Blood Drive this Friday, September 25th will count for 1.5 volunteering hours.

What do I submit for my group form? As submitting forms will not be available to NHS members until an advisor is found, general group forms will be available at the check-in desk of the Blood Drive. All NHS members coming to the Blood Drive to donate will sign the same form. If you are donating blood (or someone is donating in your name), you can sign your name on the group form during check-in. The forms will be kept at the check-in desk and collected by our NHS Secretary.

Other Volunteering Opportunities: Please refer to our NHS Remind for updates on volunteer opportunities. As of now, only returning NHS members should be in this Remind. As for submitting forms, please still sign them as normal, but keep them with you. It is advised to take a picture just to be safe. You can submit them once an NHS advisor is put into place.
