Student Council: Policy Update

Student Council: Policy Update

Hi, Hamilton,

As we move into new chapters of supporting student activities at Hamilton, the Student Council would like to share an important update. Beginning now, Student Council will no longer vote to recommend whether school administration should approve or deny new student clubs. Instead, club formation and approval will be handled directly by school administration who are currently working on updating the application form and will share it out once it is finalized.

With that in mind, Student Council is sharing a set of recommendations for all student organizations at Hamilton. These are not rules, but principles that we believe strengthen our school:

  • Clubs should be open and welcoming to all students, regardless of background, identity, beliefs, or experience.

  • Club missions should align with Hamilton's values of respect, inclusion, and positive contribution to the school community.

  • Meetings and events should create a safe environment where students can participate without fear of discrimination, exclusion, or harassment.

  • Leaders should prioritize clear communication, especially when hosting events or discussing topics that may affect the wider student body.

  • Clubs should aim to build community, not division, by encouraging respectful dialogue and collaboration.

Thank you for helping us continue to build a community where every Charger is valued.

Sincerely,

Hamilton High School Student Council
