The Hamilton School District art show is currently on display at the Pauline Haass Public Library, featuring student artwork from across the district. The exhibition highlights a variety of pieces selected by art teachers that showcase the creativity and talent of student artists working in different mediums. Community members are encouraged to stop by the library to view the artwork and support the students whose work is being featured.

Hamilton art teachers Mr. Malcore and Mrs. Strelow helped select the pieces included in the show and work with students throughout the year to develop their artistic skills. Below are a few thoughts from them about the exhibition and the work students have created.

“The 2026 Hamilton District Art Show taking place at Pauline Haas features artwork from students in Kindergarten- 12th grade.  The high school artwork has been chosen by the respective teachers from each class to feature some of the best and most visually interesting representative pieces from many different projects and mediums.  The show has limited space so not every student who has taken an art class has work featured, which makes it a true honor for students' to have their work chosen to be displayed.  This year, students who created digital photography will have their work displayed on two different TV screens in the library in a looping slideshow.  All artwork is labeled by student name and grade and will be on display until the first week of April.  There are boxes all around the library for viewers of the show to write notes to artists of their choice to comment or congratulate artists.” - Derek Malcore

“During the art show, the AP art students also have an opportunity to showcase their work in their own gallery. As the highest level of art class offered at Hamilton, these students have selected the pieces they are most proud of through their four years of high school, and display them with an artist statement explaining why they choose to create. The work is a mix of thought provoking pieces from their AP portfolios, pieces they have made in previous classes, and work they have created on their own time.

In the entrance of the library is also a collaboration project done yearly between first grade classrooms and advanced ceramic students! This year it was Marcy Elementary. The first graders made drawings of scranimals, two animals scrambled together, and then the advanced ceramics students brought their drawing to life in 3-D form. The first grade students then get to keep the  creation that was made for them!” -Bri Strelow

Stop by Pauline Haass this month to celebrate all of the Hamilton artists!
