College Commits: Alejandra Rowicki

Alejandra Rowicki, a senior at Hamilton, has recently committed to Viterbo University for softball. Rowicki has been playing for seven years.
Rowicki was named an Honorable Mention for the All Conference Team in 2024. She also has been a part of the Chargers during four sectional appearances, three of them bringing her to State. This year, Hamilton has been named Sectional Champions and will be heading to State next week!
Rowicki’s teammate, Grace Houts, says, “Ali is a one of a kind hard worker. She always maintains a positive attitude on and off the field. She is an incredible teammate who contributes so much to our team and shaping who we are. Viterbo is so lucky to get an amazing player and even better person in Ali.”

What is your favorite pre-game song that gets you ready to play?
“Da Mystery of Chessboxin’” by Wu-tang Clan
What is your favorite memory from playing softball?
My favorite memory was running into Lake Pewaukee (in full uniform) after we won sectionals and going to Buffalo Wild Wings after!
What is one lesson you have learned from softball that has helped you in life?
The biggest lesson I learned and continue to learn is to find joy. This means that no matter how well I play or how things are going, I need to find joy in what I do. This allows me to continue to play when it gets hard and enjoy the journey.
What drives you as an athlete?
My desire to be the best I can be and making my parents and coaches proud.
What will you miss most about playing for Hamilton?
The team dinners and bus rides.
What are you most excited about playing for Viterbo?
I am most excited for the spring trip to Arizona and coach buses to every away game.
What is one piece of advice that you would give to someone who is trying to play softball in college?
Email every school possible regardless of division. Also, never count any school out because you never know which one is the one.
Is there anyone you would like to shout out that has helped you in your athletic journey?
I would like to shout out my parents for taking me to countless lessons, games, and camps. Also, for staying up late helping me practice and always being a shoulder I can lean on.
